FMP WK 2

Today was the first official studio session of the FMP, so it was mainly about establishing a way of working efficiently as individuals as well as taking part in a group tutorial to discuss the criteria and project structure. I found the group tutorial quite useful just to make sure that we understood what was required of each section of the criteria; we also ended up getting into a VERY deep discussion about research sources and what would be classified as primary or secondary research, probably getting abit lost down that rabbit hole to be honest, never the less it still gave us a really broad range of resources to start thinking about. Following this discussion I know that I definitely need to use a bigger range of sources than I have in previous projects- specifically for my project I feel like taking my own photographs and observational sketches from nature will be a huge part of my primary research (which I have already started to do).

We also talked through the timetable for the FMP, which was abit of a reality check in realising that we were already into week two. Planning out a rough schedule for what we should have achieved by each week was definitely helpful so that we get enough work done for each component of the project on time so that we can realise and produce a final outcome and photoshoot by the end. Through out the FMP I will be referring back to this as well as my own timetable from my FMP proposal to keep track of where I am in the project; writing regular blogs is also important in keeping track of my progress and reflecting upon it.
