Drawing upon some of the artist research I did last week, I decided to go back to experimenting with making samples- this has been working quite well for me, flicking back and forth between research and experimentation then more research to fuel my experiments. In the experiments below I was inspired by wall hangings created by the artists Lauren and Kassandra Hernandez and I was trying to be more abstract in my interpretations of nature and recreate several different textures in one sample, rather than focussing on just one as I have been in previous samples.
As a general comment on my progress so far I feel like I am on track with the timetable I wrote in my proposal, although I do feel that I still need plenty more research. I have been taking photographs and sketching alongside other work, and I think it would be a good idea to organise my photos in a separate small book, picking the best ones that communicate my concept well and that I have worked from alot. This will also be useful for the assessment so the examiner can clearly see where I have used my own photography through out my project.
