Today I started preparing for the workshops we will have in the first week back; I signed up for a digital embroidery and laser cutting workshop and a digital print workshop. For the digital print workshop prep there was an option to focus on colour; as someone going onto a ba textile degree colour is going to be a very important aspect of my study however, I have not had much experience in studying colour so this will be useful to me. I watched a few videos that gave me abit more of an insight into colour theory and how to create a colour palette from my own photos.
In my opinion, the image I tried using first didn’t create a very successful colour palette as from the videos I learned that often some contrast works well but mine was pretty much all greens. For my second attempt I chose an image that I could clearly see had some contrast; the image had yellow and blue/grey lichens. The colour palette I produced from this image was alot more successful as it appeared more harmonious and pleasing to the eye, and it consisted of an analogous colour scheme.
